Oceanside Software places extra time and effort into every software project that we are involved in. Our company’s CEO spent 8 years working in the aerospace and defense industry where fault tolerant applications were mandatory. Our goal is to deliver products on time and without bugs that can cause an application to crash and not perform as expected.
All of our software is tested to assure that it performs to the requirements expected and demanded by our customers. Bug and error free coding is important to us and it should be important to you as well. Though all software applications inherently have errors due to the overall complexity of engineering, our processes help assure that bugs and errors are kept to a minimum, just as our CEO did while working in the aerospace and defense industry.
With so much sensitive electronic data flowing through networks, building security aware software is more important that it has ever been. Oceanside Software focusses on software security by recognizing software vulnerabilities and weaknesses from the conception of a project to requirements capture, design and configuration of the software and underlying networks and hardware the software operates on.
More specifically this is part of Oceanside’s Software Development Life Cycle SDLC and it does not end when the project is complete. We implement automatic update methods that can quickly address any potential software vulnerability that may be discovered long after the initial application has been deployed. We borrow software development and design techniques from a standard used in aerospace known as DO-178B. This standard helps assure bug-free and secure software that performs as expected.
Oceanside is also familiar with PA-DSS 2.0 and PCI-Compliancy, standards used by the credit and debit card industry. Our flagship product Oceanside POS ® is PA-DSS 2.0 validated and verified; a process that is both challenging and vaguely defined by the authors of the process.
In the 21st century engineers have at their disposal high performance chipsets and microprocessors that pack an incredible thrust with respect to real-time embedded computing. With more RAM available, high processor and bus clock speeds and a tremendous amount of data throughput, software has a true workhorse at its disposal.
To take advantage of the 21st century’s advancements in hardware design, software too must be designed using techniques and methodology that take advantage of the underlying hardware platform. Careful interrupt routine design, code optimization, multi-processor load balancing, non-blocking routines and carefully designed callbacks are just a few of the many considerations that must be considered when designing a real time application.
Oceanside has experience designing real time applications as well as working with real time operation systems such as LynxOS 178B. We understand how to carefully design software that can react in real-time safety critical applications that are always responsive.
